Camps Bay Beach is one of Cape Town’s most iconic coastal gems, known for its soft white sand, big boulders and tidal pools,  and dramatic backdrop of the Twelve Apostles mountain range.

There are two main areas at Camps Bay we can shoot at, and if the tide is low enough, there is a possible third.

Camps Bay main beach, Glen Beach and little Glen.

Things to consider - Camps Bay is extremely popular during high season (November - February) and visited by locals and travellers. Weekends are especially busy during high season so if at all possible, we would shoot during a weekday or a morning.

*Kindly Note: I don't shoot at Camps Bay beach between the Christmas and New Years period as it's too crowded and almost impossible to find an area to shoot in. A morning shoot would be recommended, or another beach location.

Weather considerations: At times, especially over full moon, the tides and swell may be too high and unpredictable for a shoot, and an alternative  location will be recommended.

What to prepare - arrive early to find a parking area and pack light (leave prams at home or in the car). Bring spare clothes for children as they do love the water, and some towels to wipe off the sand.

Afternoon Shoots at Camps Bay beach

A morning shoot at Camps Bay is really beautiful, we avoid the crowds over high season. An early start is recommended to avoid the harsh summer sun.

Glen Beach (the small beach between the boulders) next to Camps Bay beach.

Glen beach is a hidden little gem and offers a little more privacy from the main beach.

The beach isn't accessible when the tide or swell is high.

Signal Hill and Camps Bay are in close proximity so we are able to combine both locations.

Kindly allow up to 2 hours for the two location shoot.
